In
the summer of 1984 James Marra, Todd Dyer, Rudy Goryance, & guitarist
Will Palmer joined forces to form the metal band AndzVolt. Palmer was later
replaced by 2 guitarists, Todd Boese & Charlie Cook. They toured the
southeastern U.S.A. playing cover songs and there own brand of original
music that would later be known as Powersurge. After 2 years of touring
they replaced Cook for guitarest Eddie Rice & Goryance for drummer Hal
Loo and changed the name to Powersurge. At that point the band started a
mega campaign to get signed. Later in that year they released the demo
Elements Of Metal that was followed up by the Wall Of Power video.
Hal Loo then left to further an art career and the band brought back Rudy
Goryance on drums. Finally Roadrunner Records signed the band and they released
there debute album MCMXCI
(1991).
There
after Marra & Boese left the band and so Powersurge met there untimely
end. But the story doesn't end. Between 1986 to 1990 the band had recorded
38 original songs. This material was remixed and came out in
4 releases. Two released on O.P.M. Records in 2000 & 2003 and two on
Battle Cry records released in 2006. The music lives on! Hear AndzVolt |
